Light Designer/ Technician

Passionate about lighting design and nightlife, I am seeking to work as a club technician or assistant. During my master's in engineering, I had the opportunity to explore sound synthesis while also gaining professional experience as a lighting designer.

Projects

SBCS

SBCS is a student association in Paris dedicated to organizing events ranging from student parties to full-scale raves. With a material inventory valued at approximately €500,000, SBCS has the capability to rig stages from start to finish, handling everything from design to technical execution.
During my time with SBCS, I served as the lead lighting designer and technician. My responsibilities included conceptualizing and designing lighting setups, installing the equipment, and managing the lighting during events.
I primarily worked with the MA2 Ultra-Light and MA1 lighting consoles. For larger stages, I occasionally operated full-size MA2 consoles. I programmed for events dynamic animations with our scenes and operated scenographies during the parties.

Studio Apelbaum

Jonathan Apelbaum is French Berlin-based artist. He creates large-scale oil paintings that he pairs with LED panels in order to create immersive experiences. Jonathan is deeply rooted in Berlin's queer art scene and his work is often displayed in clubs and galleries around the city.
During my collaboration with Jonathan, I had the occasion to work on the softwares he uses to lighten his LED panels, as well as help him design configurations of his paintings for events and parties. I also had the opportunity to design many of the light shadders that were used during his performances.
This work is deeply connected to music, as we built sound responsive visuals. I was designing visuals that would receive OSC signals as inputs and thus evolve during parties/performances.
